Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy describes what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are
Liftby4west ("L4W", "we", "us") provides a coordinate-tracked baggage relay service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you use our platform. We process personal data in a manner consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act / NDPR and applicable data-protection law.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, role, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Booking information: pickup and delivery addresses, flight details, luggage details, and scheduling.
- Location data: pickup/delivery coordinates and, for drivers, live GPS location while online and on a job.
- Payment information: processed by our payment provider (Paystack). We receive confirmation and references, not your full card number.
- Device and usage data: log data, device identifiers, and interactions with the platform.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To process bookings, match drivers, coordinate handovers, and track the relay chain.
- To process payments and refunds and to prevent fraud.
- To send service notifications (e.g. driver assigned, en route, cancellations).
- To provide support, improve the service, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Location data
Passengers provide pickup and delivery coordinates when booking. With your permission, we may use your device location to warn you if a pickup address is far from your current location. Drivers share live location while online so we can match jobs and show progress to passengers. You can disable location at the device level, though some features will not work without it.
5. How we share information
We share only what is needed to deliver the service: relevant booking and contact details are shared with the assigned driver and airport personnel; payment data is shared with our payment provider; and information may be disclosed to authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. Non-essential analytics, where used, help us understand and improve the platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for any further period required to meet legal, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. When no longer required, data is deleted or anonymised.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and private storage for sensitive documents. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority.
10. Children's privacy
The platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us so we can remove it.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will communicate material changes through the platform. For privacy questions or requests, contact our data protection contact at privacy@liftby4west.com.
